| Abstract: | The title compounds, 7a-e, were obtained by direct acid catalyzed condensation of diethyl malonate and triethyl ortho formate, with the corresponding aniline in acetic anhydride. In the absence of acetic anhydride amido esters 8a-e were formed. |
