| Abstract: | Butadiyne, HC≡CC≡CH, can be obtained in yields up to ～90% by adding 1,4-dichloro-2-butyne, CICH2C≡CCH2CI at ～70°C to a mixture of concentrated aqueous potassium hydroxide and dimethylsulfoxide. |
