| Abstract: | Treatment of tetrahydro-2H-1,3-oxazin-2-one (1) or the 3-methyl derivative 2 with aniline salts or thiophenols at 180 °C affords the corresponding N-aryl-1,3-propanediamines 3 or 3-(arylthio)propanamines 4 in good yields. |
