| Abstract: | Methyl magnesium bromide has been reacted with a variety of substituted tropones to establish addition regioselectivity patterns. High levels of selectivity were observed in each case examined, and the resultant dihydrotropones were easily converted into highly substituted cycloheptatrienes. |
