| Abstract: | The copper catalysed opening of oxiranes by Grignard reagents is a frequently used method for the generation of carbon-carbon bonds.2–6 As only trans-opening has been reported,3,4,6 we selected this method to prepare trans-2-vinyl-cyclohexanol 1 needed, as starting material, in our recent synthesis of a-methylene-butyrolactones.7 |
