| Abstract: | A convenient procedure for the synthesis of E-oletins bearing electron donor-acceptor groups is reported. A new diethyl N-aryl aminobenzylphosphonate (1d) was synthesized. Reactivity of Wittig-Homer reaction is compared. Expansion of the π-conjugate chain involves the reduction of N-methoxy-N-methyl amide to aldehyde by reaction with DIBAL-H. |
