Abstract: | Hydroxy-terminated telechelic poly(2-chloroethyl vinyl ether) (poly(CEVE)) was synthesized by water-based end-capping reaction of living poly(CEVE) with the initiating system CH3CHCl OCH2CH2 OCOCH3/ZnCl2 in CH2Cl2 at −40°C and subsequent end-group transformation of the acetate (α-end) and aldehyde (ω-end) groups into hydroxy groups. The obtained polymers possess controlled molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distributions. |
