Nickel-catalyzed reductive electrocarboxylation of disubstituted alkynes

Abstract:Electrochemically reduced Ni(bipy)3(BF4)2 catalyzes the reaction of carbon dioxide with disubstituted alkynes to yield mono- and di-carboxylated derivatives. The reaction is performed under mild conditions in an undivided cell fitted with a sacrificial magnesium anode.
