Summarize Scratch Resistance Methods of Plastic for Automobile

Scratching resistance test of automotive interior and exterior trim plastic parts was always an important indicator of quality control. The basic principles and methods of scratching resistance test were introduced. The most important technical points which influenced the results of the test were rubbing head, load and the relation velocity between specimen and rubbing head. The evaluating methods after scratching test were mainly divided into visual evaluation and instrumental evaluation. Four test methods were also introduced such as five-finger scratch test, hardness test rod test, cross hatch test, colorfastness to crocking test and other test methods. In addition, the characteristics and applications of the methods were analyzed and summarized.
