Review of state‐of‐the‐art and output characteristics of table‐top soft x‐ray lasers |

| Abstract: | X‐ray lasers (XRLs) belong to the brightest existing short‐wavelength sources. The development trends are discussed from the point of view their suitability for applications. A detailed analysis of the output parameters of the XRL with transient inversion proves that this type of laser has become sufficiently mature to be applied in practice.
