Abstract: | An analytic method for solving the half-space boundary value problem for the inhomogeneous Boltzmann equation with the collision
operator in the form of an elliptico-statistical model (the ES-model of the Boltzmann equation) is proposed for the problem
of nonisothermal rarefied gas flow in the neighborhood of a curved surface. An exact analytic expression is derived for the
thermal slip of a monatomic gas along the surface of a rigid spherical aerosol particle. A numerical value of the gas-kinetic
coefficient which takes into account the effect of the curvature of the surface on the thermal slip coefficient is obtained.
A comparison with published data is carried out.
