| Abstract: | It has been shown that intramolecular cyclization of N-(1-methyl-3-oxobut-1-en-1-yl)phenyl- and -tosylacetamides in basic media lead to 3-phenyl- and 3-tosyl-substituted 4,6-dimethylpyridin-2(1H)-ones. |
