Optimization of computational grids

We consider the problem of mesh grading or gridr-point redistribution using optimization techniques. Some representate forms of the objective functions are considered and the assocated scaling parameterization and nonlinear programming algorithms examined. Numerical results for representative test problems involving two-and three-dimensional grids are presented.
