Abstract:The GRP-FC composite plates are treated as laminated composite plates in this paper . In computational analysis , the theory of laminated composite plate , its orthotropic nonlinear constitutive law (ONCL) and yield criterion (ONYC) are adopted. Considering the bending-tension coupling effect and the interaction between leyers of the laminated composite, a mechanical model is established for nonlinear FEM analysis, and a FORTRAN program is designd based on variable stiffness iteration. By using the program, the whole loading course is analysed for FC and GRP-FC laminated composite plates simply supported on all the four edges. The computational results are in good agreement with experimental data.
