Abstract: | A novel complex [Pb(bptm)(NO3)(H2O)2] (bptm = 1,1-bis(5-(pyrazin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl) methane) is synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Its reactivity with calf thymus DNA and HeLa cell DNA is measured using UV absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies. Gel electrophoresis assay demonstrates the ability of the complex to cleave pBR322 plasmid DNA. Eventually, the complex can suitably dock with a special DNA. |
