Microscopic study of elastic 12C+16O scattering

Abstract:The L=0 to 17 phase shifts are calculated microscopically for elastic 12C+16O scattering with a generator coordinate method. The experimental resonances are shown to belong to four different bands. Interpretations and spin assignments are suggested for several recently observed anomalies. A spin J=15 seems likely for the 22.8 MeV resonance. A missing J=13 resonance should be searched for between 17 and 18 MeV.
