| Abstract: | The alkylation of the potassium and triethylammonium salts of benzoxazolinones and benzoxazolinethiones with  -halo carbonyl compounds has been studied. The reaction takes place at the less electronegiative atoms of the ambident benzoxazolinone and benzoxazolinethione anions.
