| Abstract: | | 1. | The chelate cobalt complex Co(II)N, N -bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine [Co(Salen)] is an effective catalyst for NAD-H oxidation in methanol at room temperature. | | 2. | The rate of oxidation is closely dependent on the structure of the complex catalyst and the composition of the solvent. | | 3. | The mechanism of Co(Salen) complex catalytic activity in NAD-H autooxidation is discussed in terms of three proposed reaction schemes. |
