A complete expression of the asymptotic solution of differential equation with three-turning points

Abstract:In this paper, a second order linear ordinary differential equation with three-turning points is studied. This equation is as follows

$$\frac{{d^2 y}}{{dx^2 }} + \left {\lambda ^2 q_1 (x) + \lambda q_2 (x,\lambda )} \right]\gamma  = 0,$$
whereq t (x)=(x-μ 1)(x-μ 2)(x-μ 2)f(x),f(x)≠0,μ <}μ 2 <μ 3, and λ is a large parameter, but MediaObjects/10483_2006_BF02459174_f1.jpg By using JL function, the complete expression of the formal uniformly valid asymptotic solutions of the equation near turning point is obtained.
