| Abstract: | The electronic spectra of benzyl fluoride, benzal fluoride, and benzotrifluoride have been studied in polarized light at 4 K. An attempt is made to interpret the special features observed in the spectra by associating them with the effect of the different fluoromethyl substituents. |
