Components and antioxidant activity of fruits of Cirsium palustre and C. rivulare

Abstract:In the hexane extract of C. palustre and C. rivulare fruits, fatty acids, sterols, triterpenes, and volatile compounds were analyzed by the GC-MS-FID method. In the methanolic extracts, total phenol content was estimated. The antioxidant activity of both extracts was measured with DPPH assay and expressed in % scavenged DPPH.
