Abstract: | A new isoquinoline alkaloid, named broussonpapyrine (1), along with three other known isoquinoline alkaloids, namely nitidine (2), oxyavicine (3), and liriodenine (4), were isolated from Broussonetia papyrifera fruits. The structures of these compounds were determined by 1D and 2D NMR, MS techniques, and chemical methods. This is the first report of the isoquinoline alkaloids isolated from this plant. Published in Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, No. 1, pp. 83–84, January–February, 2007. |
