Universality of k·3n and k·4n bifurcations in area-preserving maps

Abstract:We study period-trebling and period-quadrupling bifurcations in two-dimensional reversible area-preserving maps. Our numerical results show that there are unique universal limiting behaviors in each of the period-trebling and period-quadrupling sequences.
