On the determination of α2F(ω) in metals by measuring I–V characteristics of “wide” (non-ballistic) point-contact junctions

For metals with small electron and phonon mean free paths (alloys, deformed or amorphous materials), there exists a possibility of determining α²F(ω) by measuring the V dependence of $\text{d}{}^2\text{I}\text{d}\text{V}{}^2$ or $\text{d}{}^3\text{I}\text{d}\text{V}{}^3$ of wide (d ? 10³ Å) point contacts (PC) and then inverting the linear equation relating these quantities to α²F(ω). The procedure is elaborated numerically and tested successfully for model electron-phonon interaction spectra.
