Abstract: | Inelastic scattering to the first 3?, 2+ and 5? states of 40Ca has been measured with a 68 MeV 13C beam. These data indicate that a recent theoretical attempt to reproduce the anomalous L=1 angular distribution in the 40Ca(13C, 14N)39K reaction with a coupled channels calculation overestimates the inelastic scattering to the 3? and 5? states in 40Ca by factors of 2.4 and 5, respectively. |
