Abstract:MAH grafted polyethylene was prepared by means of in-situ reaction of HDPE in solid state with chlorine and MAH simultaneously.FTIR and ~(1)H NMR were used to verify the(formation) of the target(copolymer) and to characterize its chemical structure.A quantitative method was developed to(measure) the grafting degree of MAH by virtue of chemical titration and FTIR.The prepared copolymer had a higher grafting degree(up to 2.6% by mass) compared to the MAH grafted PE by conventional methods,and was not crosslinked as proved via the determination of the gel percentage of the grafted samples.
