The Theory of the eleastic constants of nematics |

| Abstract: | Expressions are derived for the elastic constants of nematic liquid crystals by conceiving the molecular models as tensor fields. It is shown that the anisotropic part of the intermolecular pair potential can be dealt with completely. |
