Semi-classical treatment of line mixing effects in infrared spectroscopy

Abstract:Results of infrared linewidths measurements at room temperature in the ν3 + ν2 - ν2 band at 5 μ of OCS diluted in Ar are compared to semiclassical calculations. We have shown that the cross relaxation rate is very sensitive to the details of the potential.
