Vibrational exchange in high-energy linear collisions

Over a wide interval for the energy of relative motion, we have considered the problems of linear collision of a classical oscillator (anharmonic in the general case) with a structureless particle for an arbitrary mass ratio, and the collision of two classical harmonic oscillators with close frequencies.
