Abstract: | The outlined algorithm can be easily programmed to analyze tensile test data and eliminate any subjective bias introduced with graphical analysis methods. The procedure utilizes a ratio test combined with traditional numerical analysis techniques to determine Young's modulus and yield strength values. The technique represents an expanded algorithm which should be used in conjunction with the ASTM analysis method. Finally, the procedure is not effective with materials exhibiting an Sys to Srs ratio approaching unity. |
