Contact problems of thermoelasticity for a half-space of a functionally gradient material

Abstract:We propose a method of solution of problems of thermoelasticity for an inhomogeneous half-space. We assume that Poisson's ratio of a material in the half-space is constant, and Young's modulus and the coefficients of linear thermal expansion and thermal conduction vary exponentially with distance from the surface of the half-space. As an example, we consider the contact problem on sliding an inhomogeneous body along the surface of a rigid base with regard for frictional heating. I.
