| Abstract: | X-ray diffraction studies of K2Ba(NO2)4 crystals were performed in the vicinity of the paraelastic-ferroelastic phase transition. The structural parameters and the behavior of the spontaneous deformation near the phase transition were determined. The experimental data were analyzed based on a phenomenological theory. It was shown that the high-temperature phase transition is of the first order. |
