On the nature of the generalized WKB method

The nature and the conditions of applicability of the generalized WKB method (the Petrashen-Miller-Good method) are investigated. It is shown that the generalized WKB method is a new approximate method for quantum mechanics, differing essentially from the WKB method.In conclusion I wish to express my sincere appreciation to Academicians V.
