Speckle structure of a light field scattered by human eye retina

The speckle structure of a light field resulting from laser radiation scattering by human eye retina is analyzed. The presence of a speckle structure in the radiation scattered by an eye substantially impedes wave-front measurements in the study of aberrations. Two methods for suppressing such a structure based on the spatial and spectral averaging of the realizations of the speckle field are considered. The results of the theoretical calculation and numerical simulation are in agreement with the experimental data.
