Supramolecular Polymers Formed by Modified Cyclodextrins

Abstract:6-Hydrocinnamoyl agr-cyclodextrin(6-HyCiO-agr-CD), 6-hydrocinnamoyl beta-cyclodextrin(6-HyCiO-beta-CD), 6-cinnamoyl agr-cyclodextrin(6-CiO-agr-CD), and 6-cinnamoyl beta-cyclodextrin (6-HyCiO-beta-CD) have been prepared.6-HyCiO-beta-CD formed an intramolecular complex in an aqueous solution. 6-HyCiO-agr-CD formed weak intermolecular complexes.6-CiO-agr-CD formed intermolecular complexes to give supramolecular oligomers. 6-CiO-beta-CD formed insoluble supramolecular complexes in the solid state. The structures of these complexes are discussed.
