Abstract: | The adsorption behavior of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (4-N-methylpyridiniumyl)-porphyrin (H2TMPyP) from aqueous solutions onto a quartz crystal interface was investigated in situ using an electrode-separated piezoelectric sensor (ESPS). With H2TMPyP adsorbed onto quartz crystal surface of the ESPS, its oscillating frequency decreases linearly with increasing adsorption amount. The adsorption densities obtained in the ESPS method were greater than those determined in a solution depletion method. The influence of surface roughness of quartz crystal and bulk solution properties on the measurement of adsorption density in the ESPS method was discussed. |
