Abstract: | Electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra of the acridine dye 2,7-dimethyl-9-(ditolylamino)acridine were studied at room temperature in solvents of different polarity (hexane, toluene, chloroform, tetrahydrofuran, acetonitrile, etc.). The obtained data on the shift of the fluorescence band maximum depending on the solvent polarity were used for the estimation of the dipole moment of 2,7-dimethyl-9-ditolylaminoacridine in the ground and the first excited state. |
