Triterpene glycosides of silphium perfoliatum. V. The structure of silphioside A

From the epigeal part ofSilphium perfoliatum L. we have isolated glycoside F, identified as oleanolic acid 3-0--D-glucopyranosiduronic acid and a new triterpene glycoside — silphioside A — for which the structure of oleanolic acid 28-0--D-glucopyranoside 3-0-(methyl -D-glucopyranosiduronate) has been established.Pyatigorsk Pharmaceutical Institute, and Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent.
