Abstract:Prove with elementary method that the curve described by an isochronous pendulum and the fastest falling curve are cycloids. Prove that the oribit of a charged particle moving in an orthogonal uniform electromagnetic field is also a cycloid. The motions of a particle in gravitational field and in orthogonal uniform electromagnetic field are compared.
