Abstract: | The author examine the influence of Taylor–Helmholtz Hydrodynamic Instability on film boiling heat transfer from a vertical surface and its significance with regard to slow decrease in the heat transfer coefficient in the viscous region. An analytical factor for the heat transfer coefficient was derived. The good agreement of above equation and the behavior of heat transfer with the diameter of cylinder provides added confidence in the wave theory as main mechanism for heat transfer in the studied region. |
