Theoretical assignments of the electronic spectrum of acetylene

Non empirical calculations of energies and properties of some excited states of acetylene are presented. A frozen core approximation is used and excitations to , and MO's are taken into account. Both valence and Rydberg states are considered. Assignments of the UV and electron impact spectra are proposed and some questions are raised.
