Abstract:i-sepiolite catalyst was prepared and used for the hydrogenationof benzene to cyclohexane in gas phase. The heat resistance and the ability of anti-po isoning of the catalyst were studied and the catalyst lifewas calculated by speed-up method. Repeated start up and shut downoperation tests were carried out on the catalyst. The mechanism of theprocess was approached. All of these results demonstrate that the Nisepiolite catalyst developed has higher activity, better selectivity, morepowerful anti-poisoning ability, better heat resistance performance andlonger service life than the commercial Ni-Al2O3. It is a very promisingnew supported nickel catalyst which can be applied to industry.
