The exterior Robin problem for the Helmholtz equation

Abstract:A new method is given for solving the exterior Robin problem for the Helmholtz equation. The problem is reformulated as a new integral equation which is continuous as the field point approaches the boundary. It is shown that its solution can be represented as a convergent Neumann series for convex surfaces, for small values of the wave number. Examples are included which illustrate the method.
