Abstract: | Temperature measurements were performed for polycarbonate samples under electron beam irradiation for a total dose of 200 kGy at different dose fractionations. The samples were irradiated with a commercial electron beam accelerator and total dose was applied at different number of passes under the beam. Peak temperatures by beam heating obtained during irradiation varied significantly with different amounts of energy deposited per pass. For one-pass irradiation (200 kGy), the peak temperature recorded exceeded the polycarbonate's glass transition temperature. |
