Abstract: | A novel sesquiterpenoid was isolated from the whole plant of Ecdysanthera rosea Hook. et Arn. Its structure was elucidated as tricyclo[5,3,1,02,4]-3-aldehyde-3,11-dimethyl-8-methanoic acid on the basis of spectral evidence (1D and 2D NMR) and was named ecdysanthblic acid.
