Abstract:The regenerative refrigerators have important applications in space explorations and ground experiments,but the volumetric specific heat capacity of the working fluid helium in the liquid helium temperature zone is higher than that of almost all currently known regenerator materials,resulting in low efficiency of the regenerator.It is a potential solution to directly use activated carbon to adsorb a part of the working fluid helium as the regenerator materials.Based on the experimental data of the adsorption capacity in the temperature range of 4~10 K,a low-temperature dynamic adsorption calculation model was established,and the influence of the dynamic adsorption characteristics on the performance of the regenerator was analyzed.The results show that high frequency,low temperature,high pressure and small phase difference are beneficial to reduce temperature fluctuations and improve the efficiency of the regenerator.
