Abstract:	$ab initio$ calculations were carried out for three exocyclic alkylidene carbenes. Cyclopentadienylvinyl carbene is predicted to be highly electrophilic while the cyclopropenylidenevinyl carbene may provide the first example of a nucleophilic alkylidene carbene.
