Acid-catalyzed cyclization of N-3-hydroxyalkyldithiocarbamates

A study was carried out on the reaction of N-3-hydroxyalkyldithiocarbamates with concentrated sulfuric acid, which may lead to the formation of alkyl derivatives of 2-methylthio-5,6-dihydro-4H-1,3-thiazines or 2-methylthio-2-thiazolines, depending on the structure of the hydroxyalkyl fragment.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, Vol. 30, No. 3, pp. 415–416, March, 1994.
