Abstract:The MoMo bond in [C5H5Mo(CO)3]2 is cleaved by ferricenium cations in the presence of additional Group V ligands under photochemical radiation (λmax > 300 nm). The mononuclear cationic complexes [C5H5Mo(CO)2L2]BF4 (L = E(C6H5)3, E = P, As, Sb, Bi; L2 = [(C6H5)2PCH2]2) are obtained in high yield.
