Abstract: | A pulsing electrolyte flow through an electrochemical cell with planar gauze electrodes is studied theoretically and experimentally. The presence of steady flows in the cell increases its conversion coefficient and significantly decreases nonlinear distortions in its output current. The upper limiting frequency of a diffusion converter depends on the electrolyte's steady flow rate; at high fluxes, the dependence is quadratic. The adequacy of a quasi-unidimensional model intended for the calculation of basic parameters of real converters is demonstrated experimentally. |
